There are 34 sites in Redbridge that are being constantly monitored
by
Sub Terrain Loop Counters. They record the
traffic flow and the speed of passing vehicles.
Redbridge also uses portable automatic traffic counters
(ATC) at
traffic 'Hot-Spots'. The ATC's also record the flow and speed of
passing traffic.
The information is used by the traffic engineers to develop new
traffic calming measures in the worst affected areas.
