The Road Safety Team hold various competitions throughout the year.

Calendar Competition

This is an annual competition which is open to pupils from all schools in Redbridge who are invited to submit pictures with a Road Safety message.  A panel of judges select the twelve best entries which are then made into a calendar, copies of which are distributed to all schools, libraries, clinics and other places around the Borough.

Collage Competition

This annual event is open to all pre-school groups, nurseries and playgroups in Redbridge, who are invited to make a collage with a Road Safety theme. Prizes are awarded to the winning entries, which are chosen by a panel of judges.

Junior Road Safety Quiz Competition

The annual Junior Road Safety Quiz Competition is very popular and has been running since 1992. It is open to the Borough’s younger organizations, such as Brownies, Cubs etc.  It is run on similar lines to quiz nights and teams of youngsters aged 7-11 years old are eligible to enter.  All questions are taken from “Arrive Alive – A Highway Code For Young Road Users”, copies of which are supplied by the Road Safety Team.  The aim of the quiz is for youngsters to learn important road safety messages in a fun and enjoyable way, whilst competing for the coveted Junior Quiz Trophy.

New teams are always welcome to compete. Other competitions are run periodically at Road Safety Exhibitions and in the local press.
