Redbridge Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) is involved in a number of projects which aim to improve or support professional safeguarding practice in Redbridge. The projects all have the following in common: 

• they are all time-limited to ensure issues are resolved
• the aim is to help professionals improve their knowledge and practice
• the outcomes all contribute to keeping children and young people in Redbridge safe from harm

• Parenting handbook
• Vetting procedures in schools and leasing of school premises
• Training programme 2006-2009
• Launch of the London Child Protection Procedures 3rd Edition 
• Safer recruitment in organisations
• Raising awareness of private fostering
• Female genital mutilation
• Forced marriages
• Parenting strategy
• Children abused through prostitution
• Children living away from home
• Young perpetrators of abuse
• Children abused by other young people
• Safeguarding children in a digital world
• Abuse linked to a belief in spirit possession
