The Sensory Services Centre in Redbridge provides services to deaf, hard of hearing, blind, partially sighted and deafblind people, in partnership with other organisations.

The provision of mobility training and independent living skills training for people with visual impairments is provided through RNIB and Deafblind UK.

The Sensory Services Centre provides:

  • assessment and issue of equipment to deaf, deafened and hard of hearing people
  • assessment of needs of blind, partially sighted and deafblind people
  • information, advice and training about sensory loss
  • support of individuals
  • hearing aid maintenance, such as battery, tubing and cleaning
  • a weekly drop-in session with a community British Sign Language interpreter
  • a community base for clubs
  • display and demonstrate equipment for people with sensory loss
