Freedom Pass

You will be entitled to a Freedom Pass if:

  • you are aged 60 or over
  • or you have an eligible disability
  • and have your sole or permanent residence in a London borough.

The Freedom Pass allows you to travel on London's public transport including:

  • Buses
  • London Underground
  • London Overground
  • Dockland Light Railway
  • Trams.

The Freedom Pass is paid for by all London boroughs.

A freedom pass information leaflet is available in several languages.

For Disabled Persons freedom passes:

You should visit the Community Care Advice Centre, Aldborough Road North on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10am to 2pm. You will need to provide current proof of your address.

For Older Persons freedom passes:

If you have an Older Persons Pass you can get a replacement at your local Post Office.

English National Bus Scheme

From 1 April 2008, a new English National Bus Scheme will be introduced. This will allow older and most disabled freedom pass holders free travel on local bus services in England. For more information on this scheme, please visit the freedom pass website.
