Children's Centres in Redbridge

FAQ for Children's Centres in Redbridge | Contact for Children's Centres in Redbridge

Children’s centres are a one-stop shop for young children and parents, providing access to family health care, advice and guidance about bringing up children, early education and childcare.  Children’s centres also have links to career and employment services to support parents who want to return to work or training.

The centres are in different locations across the borough including primary school sites and are open all day, for most of the year.  They are open to all parents with children under five years old who live in the area and have Children's Centre Family Club membership.

Most children’s centres provide:

  • full day care & early education
  • health services
  • family support services
  • information and support in finding jobs and training opportunities.

There are also some more specialist services that are part of the Children's Centre programme such as the Prisoner's Family Liaison Officer and Parenting Programmes.

Children’s centres have been developed as part of the governments ‘Every Child matters’ programme.

There will be more centres opening in the future.  If you want to be kept informed about new developments or don’t want to be involved yet but would like to be kept up to date you can ask Families Information Direct to put you on the mailing list for the Family magazine.  This is a magazine that provides local families with information about services and events that are happening in Redbridge for families and includes information about children’s centres.
