The Community Safety Team

We are a multi-agency team of 10 staff, managed by Kiran Box. We have a co-ordinating role for all aspects of local community safety, ensuring that the Redbridge Safer Communities Partnership meets its statutory responsibilities and responds effectively to public needs and concerns.

Our main responsibilities are:

  • Drawing up the "Crime, Disorder and Substance Misuse Partnership Plan" (PDF 660 KB) and monitoring its implementation;
  • Writing an annual strategic assessment setting out the crime and disorder and substance misuse issues in the borough to target service delivery;
  • Regularly consulting with the Borough's communities;
  • Analysing crime data to pick up trends and "hotspots" in the borough;
  • Taking a lead role locally in tackling Domestic Violence, Hate Crime and Preventing Violent Extremism
  • Lowering the disproportionately high fear of crime levels in the borough by writing and implementing the Community Safety Communications Strategy;
  • Writing and developing the Redbridge Alcohol Strategy;
  • Coordinating of the Prolific and Priority Offender Scheme; and
  • Commissioning local crime reduction initiatives and projects
