Pupils achieve best ever GCSE results
Pupils in Redbridge have once again shown that years of hard
work and sacrifice have paid off after achieving the best ever set
of GCSE exam results.
Building on last year’s excellent results, the number of
students who gained top grades, five or more A*-C grades at GCSE
including English and Maths, increased by three per cent on last
year’s 61 per cent.
This was an incredible achievement as it equated to an increase
of almost 100 more 16 years olds than last year passing the crucial
GCSE exam which is seen as the gateway to pupils' future
education.
This year also saw 99 per cent of students achieve one or more
GCSE pass.
Cllr Michael Stark, Cabinet Member for Children's Services,
said: "I am very pleased so many students in Redbridge have
performed really well in their GCSE examinations this year. I would
like to congratulate them on their success. Once again we have
topped last year's results and produced our best ever set of GCSE
results.
"These results demonstrate the excellent standard of teaching in
Redbridge schools and the dedication of our staff in supporting our
young people achieve their potential."
