We have done it again!

Maximum national three star rating for fourth successive year

The Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) announced on 27 November 2008 that Redbridge Adult Social Care has successfully retained the highest rating of three stars status, for the fourth successive year.

There are 150 councils with adult social care responsibility across England and we were one of only 24 of these councils who received the top 'excellent' score in both categories. We were also only one of 9 London Boroughs who received these scores. This continued three star rating endorses our claim of being an ‘excellent place for care' for Redbridge residents.

Lifelong Learning Event - A big hit for the over 50's!Lifelong Learning event for older people at the Town Hall

More than 100 residents aged 50+ enjoyed a great day finding out about some of the exciting learning and leisure opportunities, organised by the newly formed 50+ Forum.

The event was held on 27 March 2008 and proved to be a success with people listening in on guest speakers, browsing stalls as well as watching and taking part in demonstrations of tai chi, yoga, floral arts, pottery, computer skills and more.

Guest speakers from the Redbridge Institute for Adult Education and the University of the Third Age both gave an insight into adult learning opportunities.

Information about the 50+ Forum and issues important to older people in Redbridge can be found in the Developing a Forum for Older People in Redbridge Report (PDF 1.04 MB).
