Residents are being warned about a bogus caller in the Seven Kings area posing as council worker.

A man has been reported asking homeowners to pay £7.00 to change over to a new type of wheelie bin approved by Redbridge Council.

The Councils Cleansing department have said there is no such charge over wheelie bins and this is a bogus telephone call.

Such calls can lead in to other criminal activity such as distraction burglary, and rogue trader, when the vulnerability of the homeowner has been established via the bogus call.
