Across the country, membership of gyms is growing as 
people discover the benefits of
regular, structured exercise. Redbridge is no exception to the
trend and residents are amply served by council-owned as well as
privately-run fitness centres.
Our own amenities include the following gyms:
- At our Ilford and Fullwell Cross Swimming Pools, including sauna/vapour
rooms and sunbeds
- The Ashton Playing Fields fitness suite where regular
exercise classes are available. Here you can use a range of
cardiovascular and resistance machines to improve your fitness
- Wanstead Leisure Centre
Residents are also served by the independently
run Redbridge Sports Centre, in
Forest Road, Barkingside, where the Ultra's Gym provides a
90-station centre and a health suite with steam room, sauna and
sunbeds.
