Fairlop Sailing Centre with its open aspect, is an ideal place to learn to sail, situated in Fairlop Waters Country Park, Sailing on fairlop lakeenjoying the use of a 40 acre lake with two islands. Burnham Yacht Harbour on the Crouch is the coastal base.

The Centre holds an AALA licence with Royal Yachting Association and British Canoe Union approval for instruction in dinghy sailing, windsurfing, power-boating and paddle-sports. Courses are designed to suit all ages and interests.

The schools programme runs throughout the year catering for 30 primary schools and 23 secondary, 15 special needs schools/groups also used the Centre this year. The Centre is open throughout the year on Saturdays and young peoples accreditation courses run in the holidays. The youth service accesses the Centre on summer evenings five nights a week with a kayak rolling pool session at Loxford on Tuesday evenings. Centre members can use the Centre during the majority of opening times.
