FAQ for Allotments | Contact for Allotments

Allotments are available throughout the Borough. Special Allotmentrates are offered to senior citizens. The council runs 13 allotment sites and there are a further 12 sites run by other organisations in the borough. If you are interested in renting an allotment apply online.

You can apply to rent an allotment at any time - though it is often best to take a plot in the Autumn so you can prepare it for Spring planting.  The annual rent is reviewed every year and varies according to the allotment site.  Concessions are often available for pensioners, the registered disabled and the registered unemployed.

Sites usually include security fences, piped water supplies and toilets.  Some have parking and society trading huts.

You don't have to have any prior gardening knowledge and will usually find plenty of advice from your fellow plot-holders.  There is an annual competition with prizes for the best-kept plot.
