The Housing Strategy team provides support through the development of appropriate policies and monitoring to ensure the fulfilment of stated objectives through developing a Housing Strategy in conjunction with service users and providers that link to projects and initiatives within our sub-strategies:

• The Housing Strategy Fit for Purpose 2003-2007
• Equalities Strategy 2006-2010 -Equalities Strategy Action Plan
• Affordable Housing Strategy 2003-2007 (incorporating Empty Property Strategy)
• Strategy for Older People 2007
• Draft Drug and Alcohol Strategy - Drug and Alcohol Action Plan
• Homelessness Strategy 2003-2008
• Draft Housing & Health Strategy 2006-2010
• Draft Private Sector Strategy 2006-2010

Other areas of development are:

• Producing the Housing Business and Training Plans
• Managing the co-ordination of service quality, application of information technology, monitoring and policy development
• Promoting performance management through quality accreditation e.g. Investors In People, Charter Mark
• Ensuring that services are developed to meet changing demands through research, joint working and partnership projects
• Co-ordinating the production of Annual Reports
• Co-ordinating major Housing Service information and consultation events
• Supporting information management through paper and electronic media
