The Council works in partnership with Ilford Town Centre Managment Ltd to deliver a 3 year London Development Agency sponsored Town Centre Alliance Programme. It's main aims are:

  • training for businesses and their employees
  • A retail jobs brokerage
  • the training and employment of town centre Ambassadors
  • a “Buy with Confidence” quality scheme for town centre businesses
  • shopper and retailer surveys and project evaluation
  • outreach to local businesses

Business Improvement Districts

  • Supporting the Ilford Town Centre partnership to create a BiD starting in 2008/09.  

Redbridge District and Local Centres

  • Focussing on supporting local business partnerships in Wanstead, Gants Hill, Barkingside and South Woodford, will support the partnerships in achieving an area wide approach to economic regeneration in the town centres
  • Working to support local centre improvements across the borough, particularly where the Borough needs to preserve quality environments and where there is a need for upgrading and coping with rapid growth.
