Climate Change

Climate Change is one of the most serious threats facing the world today.

However, if we all act now, the world can avoid its worst effects. The devastating floods, droughts and storms we have seen across the world, the UK and in Redbridge, show how vulnerable we are to climate extremes and how devastating they can be. And we have been warned that things will get worse.

Climate change brings with it huge costs to the environment, economy and society. Therefore, we have to take practical action to deal with flooding and severe weather, but also to tackle climate change by reducing the greenhouse gas emissions that cause it.

Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing the planet, but what does it mean for us in Redbridge, and what can we do to make a difference?

Local residents, community groups, the Council and other organisations are all working together to minimise our impact on the Climate. A draft Climate Change Action Plan has been produced. View here or in local libraries.
