Clinical Waste Collection

FAQ for Clinical Waste Collection | Contact for Clinical Waste Collection

Clinical wasteThe collection of clinical waste from private domestic property in Redbridge is a free service, which includes the supply of all plastic sacks and sharps bins.

Most of our customers are referred to us by their district nurse, who advises us of the required service. Non-infectious waste can normally be disposed of with the normal household waste and we are able to provide, free of charge, strong black plastic sacks to put this waste in.

Yellow bags and boxes must be securely sealed before collection to prevent spillage. Only soft waste is to be put into the yellow bags. Any sharp items must be put into yellow sharps boxes. Do not overfill yellow bags or boxes, as they may split or open.

Collections are made once a week from each customer. The collection day is determined by area and all customers are advised in writing of their collection day. Yellow bags must be left outside the front door, visible from the road, before 8.00am on the day of collection. Do not leave yellow sharps boxes outside.

New yellow bags and sharps boxes will be supplied depending on the requirements of each customer.

Please contact the customer contact centre to book a collection of clinical waste.
