Welcome to your recycling service...

Recycling is easy and can make a real difference to our environment, resulting in less rubbish being buried in landfill sites or burned in incinerators. It has the effect of reducing the production of greenhouse gases and liquids released into the environment.

Recycling saves energy, preserves our natural resources and creates healthier communities for us all to live in.

Redbridge Council is committed to making recycling easier for residents.

There are various recycling schemes available, which are detailed below and you can also get information by downloading the Redbridge Reduce, Reuse And Recycle Guide (PDF 1.15Mb).

Weekly recycling is here!

Since 1 October 2007, weekly recycling has been provided to all households served by the door-to-door collection service.

This significant improvement has been made possible by cost savings achieved by a new contract negotiated with MRS, our recycling and refuse collectors.

It is hoped that more residents will be encouraged to recycle their household waste.

Councillor Peter Goody, the Cabinet Member for Highways and Cleansing said: ‘This is a significant improvement to the recycling service offered to residents. This will make it even easier for residents to recycle and reduce the amount of waste needlessly ending up in landfill.’

As well as the move to weekly recycling, residents will notice that both the refuse and recycling will now be collected on the same day.
