The Detached Team works with the young people of Redbridge on the streets, estates and parks on their territory, who it believes are not accessing existing youth provision and support services in Redbridge.

It creates opportunities using mediums such as:

• sport
• music
• IT
• group work to engage young people on the issues that are important to them e.g. relationships, crime, health and education

The Detached Team offers information, advice and guidance through:

• educational DVD Films
• workshops on the Effects of Drugs, Alcohol, and Sexual Health
• workshops on anti social Behaviour and its effects on the community.
• DJ, MC-ing and music workshops
• computer homework / CV preparation
• intervention work
• youth bus structured development programmes

The Detached Team has a Safer Clubbing Team which works in Shannon's Night Club, Seven Kings on Friday and Saturday nights. This enables the team of youth workers to support and provide information, advice and guidance on safer clubbing and refer to other services/agencies.

The Detached Team is supported by the Youth Bus, the interior of which is custom built to young peoples specifications and will provide advice and information to young people via computer link, Internet Access, television and literature as well as being a resource that can accommodate small group work and leisure activities. It is hoped that the bus will be able to be used in each area once a week providing wider access to youth service provision in our target age range.
