Basketball game at a youth clubOur Youth Service works to provide all young people, aged between 11 to 25 years, with a range of enjoyable opportunities, challenging experiences and effective support that will enhance their personal, social and educational development during the transition to adulthood.

We achieve this by managing the following services:

Four youth centres across the borough
 - Downshall Centre
 - Hainault Youth Centre
 - Loxford Youth Centre
 - Wanstead Youth Centre 

  • a drop-in and advice centre in the centre of Ilford- Ilfomation - with active support for the Connexions programme  
  • outdoor education and adventurous activities
  • other accreditation programmes such as arts, including Arts and Dance and Sports Development
  • the Detached Team who works with young people on the streets
  • a team dedicated to working with young people with learning difficulties or with physical and sensory impairments
  • Youth Council and Youth Involvement
  • the successful Summer Uni
  • Youth Opportunities Fund

Redbridge i now has a Youth Matters Forum where residents particulary the younger ones can have their say.
