About our school
South Park Primary School is a much bigger than usual community
primary day school, with 784 pupils currently on roll (Nursery-Year
6).
We are located in the southern part of the London Borough of
Redbridge - one of the most densely populated and poorest areas in
the borough.
Our immediate catchment area incorporates a wide range of
housing types and socio-economic groups. We have a very high
percentage of pupils who speak English as an additional language
(61%) and a high proportion of children who are eligible for free
school meals (20.2%). 23% of our pupils have been identified
as having special educational needs.
We serve a culturally diverse community - and are proud of the
fact that pupils learning experiences are enhanced through the use
of the talents and expertise of members of our own community and so
reflect the multicultural nature of all that we do.
We provide a broad and balanced curriculum - but are especially
proud of our music; art; expressive arts and drama activities and
achievements. We have been awarded an Artsmark Silver Award
for our commitment to the Arts.
Our school has an active and supportive parent body. We
have featured on the BBC News and in the Times about our innovative
fundraising techniques.
We are a friendly and supportive school - visitors to the school
comment about the special ethos that exists as soon as you step
through our gates.
Come and visit - we look forward to seeing you!
