About our school

Snaresbrook Primary School is a high achieving, successful and popular two form entry, co-educational community day school with an attached Nursery Unit.

It is situated in pleasant surroundings in the west of the London Borough of Redbridge.  The school is within easy walking distance of Snaresbrook and South Woodford Underground stations on the Central Line and several bus routes.

It stands on an attractive site of about three and a half acres with its own sports field and extensive play areas.

The school which was opened in 1974, has been considerably extended and remodelled over recent years to include a new wing, ICT room, library and Nursery Unit.

The school provides for the 3-11 year age range and at present has about 420 pupils on roll organised into fourteen classes.

The Nursery Unit caters for a total of 72 (36 morning and 36 afternoon) children from the age of three years.  Our children come from a wide range of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds and the school is rightly proud of its diversity.

A recent Ofsted (December 2005) described Snaresbrook as a good school, with good teaching and outstandingly well-behaved pupils.

Each mixed ability class has its own teacher for most subjects which comprise the National Curriculum.  The school employs a range of adults, including Nursery Nurses and Teaching Assistants to support the children's learning. Improving and building upon the already significant academic success enjoyed by the children remains a school priority.
