About the School

Gearies Junior School is a three form entry junior school.  We currently have a school roll of 360 pupils.  The school is situated in a suburban area five minutes walk from Gants Hill tube station and close to local amenities and bus routes.

The school building comprises twelve classrooms, one hall, a music room, school office and special needs room. Each classroom has its own computer. The school building was built in 1929 and is on one level.

In 2002 a new two-storey teaching block was built to include an ICT suite and new staffroom.  The school is entirely wheelchair accessible.

We have two playgrounds - a large one at the front of the building and a smaller landscaped playground at the rear.

We are able to offer a variety of music lessons which are taught by peripatetic music teachers from the Redbridge Music Service. Pupils in year 6 attend swimming lessons at the nearby swimming pool.

The parents association organises an annual summer fare, funds raised are used to benefit the school.
