About the School

Fullwood Primary School is a community primary day school, admitting pupils from the age of 3 (nursery) until transfer to secondary school at the age of 11.  Approximate number of pupils is 310 excluding nursery.

The school is set in pleasant, well-maintained grounds surrounded by grass areas, shrubs and trees.  The main building was opened in 1974.  The nursery added in 1989 provides places for 52 pupils attending part-time.

As a one and a half form of entry school, classes are vertically grouped in Key Stages 1 and 2, with a subject specific topic based curriculum integrated on a two year teaching cycle.  Currently the school is organised as follows:

Foundation Stage Nursery and two Reception Classes
Key Stage 1  Three mixed classes of Y1 and 2
Key Stage 2

Three mixed classes of Y3 and 4 (Lower Juniors)

Three mixed classes of Y5 and 6 (Upper Juniors)

We, at Fullwood, provide a stimulating and attractive environment in which staff, children, parents and visitors feel welcome, secure and at ease.  As a nationally accredited Healthy School, we endeavour to promote the well being of all, pupils, staff and visitors through open dialogue, respect and the promotion of high expectations of behaviour.
