About the School

Farnham Green Primary School is a two-form entry primary school situated in an attractive site in Seven Kings, Ilford.  The school has its own field, two playgrounds and a pond that is used to support Science activities.

Each class has its own designated class teacher but in addition, receives Learning Support Assistant (LSA) support.  Additional support is also given within class to pupils with special needs or to those who have English as a second language, by special assistants or support teacher.

The school draws its pupils from wide range of backgrounds and cultures and this variety is celebrated and valued within the school.  Parents are encouraged to help within the school and take part in events with the children.  In addition to curriculum events, we also have an active Parent Teacher Association, which organises regular fundraising and social events. The home school partnership is considered vital so we seek to work very closely with parents and inform and involve them in their child's schooling.

Our school offers a range of after school activities and clubs eg football, netball, board games, choir, ICT and many others.  Priority is given to the oldest children first.

In addition to the primary classes, the buildings also house a nursery unit, which the children attend for half-day sessions, 26 places per session.  The classes within the main part of school usually have 30 as the maximum number of pupils.  The infant section of the school is semi-open plan but Key Stage 2 classrooms are more traditional in design.  The ICT suite, housing 16 computers, is timetabled for one lesson per week for every class with Key Stage 2 classes receiving a second lesson each week to use ICT skills in other curricular areas.

The aim of the school is to ensure that each child achieves their potential, both academically, personally and socially by working closely with parents.
