About the School

Cleveland Infants' School is a 3 form of entry school with a nursery.  The school is situated on the southern side of the Borough and occupies the ground floor of a late Victorian building.  The school building has been extensively modernised and provides a stimulating learning environment for the children.

The Junior school occupies the two floors above.

The intake of the school is multi-cultural; approximately 87% of our children belong to an ethnic minority grouping.  The school values the cultural diversity of the children.

The school had a successful Ofsted inspection in July 1998.  The main findings were, "Cleveland Infants' School is a good school because it has many strengths.   It provides a very effective learning environment where strong leadership and good teaching supports the children....  The children are happy, valued and well motivated and taught within a caring, secure and harmonious environment."

The school works hard to promote partnership with parents/carers.  Curriculum evenings have been well supported, staff and parents/carers have high expectations for the children.

All the staff, teaching and non-teaching, work closely together to educate the children in the broadest sense.  Cleveland Infants' is a well ordered, happy School where children are encouraged to develop in every way.
