About the School

Churchfields Infants' School is a co-educational community day school, maintained by the Local Authority.  It caters for children between the ages of five and seven years.  The site is shared with the Junior School, to which most children transfer automatically at the age of seven.

Churchfields Infants' School is situated in South Woodford in a residential area close to Epping Forest.  The Infants' School, Nursery Unit and Language Facility have their own grounds on a large, attractive site shared with Churchfields Junior School.

The Nursery Unit is housed in a separate building next to the Infant school and caters for 120 children, 60 attending in the morning and 60 in the afternoon.

The Language Facility provides support for children with expressive language difficulty or delay who are referred from across the Borough, mostly by Speech Therapists, clinics and Educational Psychologists.

The school building is surrounded by both hard and grassed areas. There are three playground area - one for each of the year groups. Each year group has its own 'Adventure Playground' - purchased with help from the PTA.
