The role of Children's Services is to provide children, young
people and their families with access to the best possible
opportunities, care and protection.
The Service is led by the Director of Children's Services and
comprised of four main areas each of which encompasses a
number of different services.
Services to Individual Pupils and Young
People covers access to learning opportunities.
Planning and Resources provide support
functions to Children's Services.
Learning and School Improvement fulfils the
Service's role of support and challenge to schools.
Children's Trust brings together services from
education, children's social care and health into one
organisational structure to harness voluntary, community and
private sector resources.
