ReBEP
assists
and supports our schools by bringing together all sectors of the
community to participate in education/business link activities
designed to give young people the skills to break into and thrive
in a work environment. They aim to boost the employability of
our young people by improving confidence, capability and skills and
raising aspirations, motivation and self-worth.
Visit the ReBEP website for more information on
the range of programmes they offer including curriculum support,
mentoring, work experience and many others.
Becoming a mentor
ReBEP are continuously looking to identify suitable
mentors. Full induction and training is provided to all new
and existing mentors together with ongoing support from both ReBEP
and the school. Mentors do not visit mentees in their homes
nor do they accompany them on school trips (under the ReBEP
programme).
If you are interested in becoming a mentor see the
Mentoring
document, view the information on the ReBEP website or contact ReBEP for further advice.
Obtaining a mentor
Schools identify suitable students who will most benefit from
mentoring and, in conjunction with
ReBEP
,
match mentors with mentees. Schools obtain written parental
consent of all students participating in the programme.
ReBEP
currently work with a few select secondary schools only.
Schools interested in running a mentoring programme are welcome
to contact ReBEP to discuss their
requirements.
If you are a parent or pupil interested in obtaining a mentor
see the Mentoring
document, visit the ReBEP website for more
information then contact your school for further advice.
