How can I get involved in Scrutiny?
Answer
Your councillors want to hear from you so that this process can
work well and so we can investigate the issues that really concern
you. Is there something about a local council or health service
that, you think, can be improved? If so, you could help us now
by:
Contacting the Scrutiny Unit to suggest topics for
investigation by:
Suggestions should:
- Be about a local service that is partly or
fully provided by the council or by health
- Affect a group or community of people
- Not have been investigated within the last 12
months
- Not be currently investigated elsewhere in
the council
Attending Scrutiny Committee
meetings
Forthcoming meetings are displayed on the Town Hall Noticeboard
and agenda packs
are available online. Each pack contains the latest work
programme report at that time.
Volunteering to provide evidence or join Working
Groups
Working Groups are set up to
undertake detailed scrutiny on specific topics as agreed by
Members. If you are willing to offer your time to assist in
the undertaking of projects from time to time please speak to
or email the relevant officer at the Scrutiny Unit.
