FAQ for Councillors | Contact for Councillors

Councillors are your local elected representatives.  They are usually members of a political party, though some may choose not to belong to any party and are called independents.

The borough is divided into 21 wards each with two or three elected representatives bringing the total number of councillors to 63. Currently, the Conservatives hold 33 seats, the Labour Party hold 18 seats, the Liberal Democrat Party hold 10 seats, the British National Party holds 1 seat, and there is one independent.

The next election in Redbridge will be held in 2010.

You can meet with your local councillors at their regular public surgeries. Surgeries are informal, open sessions that councillors host in each ward. Come along to meet your councillors and raise your issues and concerns. You can also contact local councillors directly by phone, in writing, or by email.
