Publications Scheme

FAQ for Publications Scheme | Contact for Publications Scheme

The Council is required to prepare and maintain a publication scheme under section 19 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

A publication scheme is your guide to the types of information that the Council makes available to the public.  It also includes the form in which the information can be obtained (i.e. paper or electronic) and whether or not the Council will charge you for providing the information.

Types of information available

The London Borough of Redbridge is a local authority serving a population of around 230,000 residents in East London.  As a London borough, the Council is responsible for the provision of a wide range of services to the community, including:

  • Education;
  • Social services;
  • Libraries;
  • Leisure facilities;
  • Highways and streets maintenance;
  • Planning services;
  • Housing provision;
  • Trading standards and licensing;
  • Waste and recycling services.

The Council publishes a diverse range of information about the services and facilities it provides and how to access them.  It also publishes information about the Council, its decision-making processes and about how you can get involved. The pages below contain further information about the publication scheme and our duties under the FOI Act.  The FAQs also provide detailed answers to many of the most common questions raised.
