Single Person Discount

The full Council Tax bill assumes there are two adults living in a property. If only one adult lives there (as their main home), the bill can be reduced by 25% (one quarter).

Long Term Empty Properties

Until 31 March 2004 properties which had been empty and unfurnished for longer than six months were granted a Council Tax discount of 50%. From 1st April 2004, no discount will be granted.

Second Homes and Properties unoccupied and furnished

The bill can be reduced by 10%
