What are Cabinet's Responsibilities
The Cabinet has five main responsibilities. These are:
(i) Responsibility for implementing the agreed Budget and Policy
Framework and the development of proposals in accordance with the
Budget and Policy Framework;
(ii) Promotion of the economic, social or environmental
well-being of the area, leading the development of the community
plans and the formation of partnerships with other public, private,
voluntary and community organisations including the Redbridge
Strategic Partnership;
(iii) Leading the search for best value and considering the
outcomes of best value reviews agreed by Scrutiny Committees with a
view to ensuring continuous improvement in the delivery of
services;
(iv) To exercise all the powers and duties of the Council which
are not the responsibility of other bodies;
(v) To be cognisant of the requirements of Social Inclusion and
Equal Opportunities in the delivery of services.
