Health and Wellbeing Cluster

Keep FitDeveloped a pilot Advisory Service for Older people based in a new health centre in Hainault. Older people worked with Council officers, Redbridge Primary Care Trust (PCT) and the voluntary sector to shape the service, which will be provided by Age Concern Redbridge.

The Council, Business Redbridge and the voluntary sector worked together to plan a new state of the art health centre in south Ilford.

Redbridge CVS delivered the successful Community Group Exercise Project: 30 groups took part with 750 people attending each week, leading to higher fitness levels for participants.

Implemented the Choosing Health agenda, providing activities to increase physical activity, reduce obesity, improve mental and sexual health, and reduce smoking.

Appointed a co-ordinator for the Ageing Well project.

Children and Young People Cluster

Developed an Obesity Strategy, through market research and consultation, to help reduce obesity within the Borough. 

Mapped mental health services for children and young people.
