Supporting business

  • Ilford and its surrounding area ranked first in a national league table of business growth during 2007, according to a Royal Mail report.
  • SkillsREDBRIDGE, the Borough’s employment and skills partnership, launched a new online Directory of Training and Employment Services for Businesses. This provides details of services for businesses that want help in training and developing their staff or in recruiting local people to work in their businesses.
  • We launched a new service, Jobnet, in April 2007 with the aim of matching local people searching for work to job vacancies with employers. Jobnet is an innovative partnership between five London boroughs including Redbridge.
  • The Regeneration Unit received 341 inward investment enquiries, an increase of more than 50 per cent over the previous year and 172 businesses were assisted to improve their performance in 2007/08, an increase of over 100 from 2006/07.
