Make a difference - become a volunteer

Many local organisations are always looking for volunteers from the local community and beyond to help them make a difference.

From time to time, we will list on this page the current volunteering opportunities available.

If you are interested in being a volunteer please contact the organisation/s you would like to offer assistance to below:

Improving services for children

  • Reconstruct logoAre you caring?
  • Can you relate to young people and the pressures they face in today’s society?
  • Are you able to commit to 3-4 hours per month?
  • Are you able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekend?

Reconstruct are currently recruiting for caring reliable adults within Redbridge and surrounding areas to work with young people in care who have little contact with their birth families.

The role involves visiting a young person once a month for a few hours.  You will be a positive role model for them by:

  • encouraging their interests
  • befriending
  • supporting
  • advising
  • generally encouraging their social development
  • increasing their self-esteem and confidence over time. 

You do not need any experience as full training will be given. 

What we offer:

  • excellent training, support and supervision
  • £8 per hour (freelance)

Help ex-service people to help themselves SSAFA Logo

The Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association ( SSAFA )are seeking volunteers to look after the welfare of ex-service people, their widows and their families. SAAFA act as friendly advisers, whatever the problem, however personal or varied.

SSAFA volunteers need:

  • commitment
  • perseverance
  • patience
  • excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • you don't need to come from a Service background
  • and training is provided with all out-of-pockt expenses paid

Redbridge i Focus Groups

Please fill in the form below if you'd like to participate in forthcoming Redbridge i focus groups. These will be held every six months. The aim of the focus groups will be to:

  • test new features of Redbridge i
  • test existing features on how easy and useful they are
  • improve the user experience
  • develop new ideas
  • amend existing features based on the feedback from teh focus groups
