FAQ for British Citizenship Ceremonies | Contact for British Citizenship Ceremonies

The local authorities that administer civil registration services in England and Wales are required by the Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Act 2002 to arrange ceremonies on behalf of the Home Office for applicants for British Nationality to make a citizenship oath and pledge.

This is mandatory for all applicants aged 18 and over for British Citizenship and all applications received by the Home Office on or after 1 January 2004 fell within these new arrangements.

If you live in Redbridge and receive a letter from the Home Office advising you to contact the London Borough of Redbridge then please telephone the Customer Contact Centre to arrange a date for a ceremony.

More information about the ceremony can be found in our Frequently Asked Questions Section.

If you have a query about British Citizenship or Citizenship Ceremonies, please contact the Home Office.
