Redbridge is a diverse London borough with a vibrant multi-cultural community of close to 240,000 residents. Almost 38% of the borough's  population come from ethnic minority communities. 

The 2001 Census indicates that Redbridge has a wide variety of religions. In order of percentage the religions within Redbridge are: Christian (50.7%), Muslim (11.4%), Hindu (7.8%), Jewish (6.2%), Sikh (5.5%) Buddhist (0.4%), Other (0.4%).  About 1 person in 6, (17%), stated they were of No religion or declined to answer.
