FAQ for Equality Impact Assessments | Contact for Equality Impact Assessments

The Equality Impact Assessment ( EIA ) process allows the Council to ensure that our services and employment practices are delivered in a fair and equal way to all our customers.  In particular those that otherwise may be disadvantaged due to their age, disability, gender, race, religion or belief or sexual orientation.  It also allows the Council to ensure that existing services, policies and procedures are shaped around customers needs.  This is done by:

  • reviewing equalities data and identifying differences in take-up of a service, policy or procedure
  • consulting with relevant equalities groups to see how they view the service
  • identifying barriers or possible discrimination and positive steps to remove them
  • publishing the findings.

Partner Agencies

Redbridge Council works with partner agencies such as Redbridge Primary Care Trust in delivering some of our services.

The Children's Services EIA form and guidance is available below for Primary Care Trust staff seconded into the Children's Trust who may find it informative.
