The grants round for 2009/10 – 2010/11 is now closed.

The grant round was advertised in the Redbridge Life, the Council for Voluntary Service E-News and on Redbridge i. 150 grants application packs were sent out via the Customer Contact Centre, One Stop Shop, Redbridge Council for Voluntary Service and Strategic Services.

Four funding surgeries were held attended by 25 organisations, one-2-one sessions with 10 organisations, a presentation at the CVS Network meeting and numerous telephone conversation with various organisations offering help and advice and to answer specific questions about the eligibility criteria for the new funding programme.

The Council has received 53 applications from 40 voluntary and community organisations from which:

  • 18 organisation have applied for A Strategic Partners Fund
  • 35 organisations have applied for the Emerging Needs and New Initiatives Fund.

All applications are currently being assessed in line with the eligibility criteria and the priorities in the Sustainable Community Strategy and will also pass the Council’s Finance and Legal checks.

Cllr Fairley-Churchill, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Services, will report the outcome of the grants assessment to Cabinet Committee on Tuesday 24th March 2009.  All applicants will be informed whether their application has been successful or not, at least five days prior to the Cabinet Committee meeting to allow either written or verbal representation at the meeting.
