The Council receives
many requests for activities to take place in the pedestrian
precinct of Ilford Town Centre. This covers a wide range of things
from vehicles promoting public services to carol singing.
Obtaining permission for these activities is
coordinated by the Licensing Service and a special street
trading pitch is located in the Town Centre opposite Harrison
Gibson where they can take place. Exceptionally permission to use
other areas in the predestrian precinct may be granted.
You can apply to use this area to inform or entertain the
community. It can not normally be used for any activity aimed
at generating income, other than charitable
collections. Certain trading activities co-ordinated through
the Town Centre Manager, such as continental markets, may be
permitted.
For some events involving entertainment you may also need to
apply for a Temporary Event Notice.
It will be let free of charge to:
- Registered charities
- Local Authority and Government
Departments
- Performers and entertainers who either
are not performing for gain or who have written evidence that
proceeds, in their entirety, will be donated to charity
- Organisations devoted entirely to promoting
the aims and objectives of the Council, in which the Council
has a formal interest.
A daily fee is payable by other
persons or groups interested in using this pitch.
