Wanstead and Woodford Association for the Blind

Aug 13

The Mayoress and I attended the summer party organised by Wanstead and Woodford Association for the Blind. It took place at Woodford Green Preparatory School, Glengall Road. We were welcomed by Mrs. Margaret Croft, its Chairman and were able to speak to all members, their partners and volunteers.

The Association has a very long history and its social club meets weekly on Thursdays from 2 to 4 p.m. at the United Free Church Hall, High Elms, Woodford Green. The Association receives no official funding and is supported by committed volunteers.

I was asked to draw the raffle prizes and guess what, we’ve won two prizes – but we asked the second prize to be put back for another lucky winner.
