Great river boat race and world of dance
Sep 25
The Mayor of Tow
er Hamlets hosted the start of the Great River Boat Race at Millwall Slip. This race, which finishes at Richmond, is very long; the Mayor of Tower Hamlets was in a boat and it took them over 5 hours to complete the distance.
The race itself was followed by the Great River Race
Reception, hosted by the Mayor of Richmond. When we arrived the Thames was at its highest and there was a wonderful display of field guns to finish.
To finish off our busy day we then attendance the World of Dance, at the Guoman Hotel in St Katharine’s Way. This spectacular event featured dancers from Brazil, Ireland, Nigeria and India and made for a very exotic evening.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable end to the day and raised lots of many for various charities.
